Wednesday, July 30 I just remembered - I went to a Pond Party this weekend. It was also a Hawaiian Party, a Stock-the-Bar Party and something else that I forget. I guess Wayne couldn't make up his mind. But there were Mai Tais, hula dancers and a dog wearing a grass skirt. What could be better than that? ![]() 4:26 PM | allison | # | Today begins the super-busy and notimeformyself month that lies ahead. For the next five weeks, I'll be driving to Sandwich at least twice a week, attending rehearsals for two awesome shows, continue my 5K training and getting very little sleep. I'm very excited. Oh. And I've got some pictures from our day on the town. 9:31 AM | allison | # | Tuesday, July 29 I spent yesterday playing hookey. Sort of. I mean, I took the time off in advance so my boss knew I wasn't gonna be there, but I took the day off only so I could spend the day not in the office. On my request form, under reason for time off I wrote, "Mental Health." We spent the day playing tourist in our own city - we went on a boat ride, shopped, ate popcorn, took pictures, people watched, got sunburned and went home exhausted. While I'm not thrilled to be back in the office, I dreaded it less than I probably would have otherwise. In other news, it's happening again. Fare thee well, Bob Hope. Thanks for the memories. 8:51 AM | allison | # | Wednesday, July 23 Some days I feel like everything I say and write comes out sounding like the teacher from Charlie Brown. Wah, wah, wah, wah, wah, wah. Wah, wah. Wah, wah, wah, wah, wah. Wah, wah, wah, wah wah-wah, wah. Wah, wah, wah, wah, wah, wah. Wah, wah. Wah, wah, wah, wah, wah. Wah, wah, wah, wah wah-wah, wah. You should watch. Now. 10:54 AM | allison | # | Monday, July 21 Yesterday was amazing. We celebrated my mom's birthday, and we did so in grand style. We saw Cirque du Soleil's Verekai. It was spectacular and scary and amazing and thrilling all at once. I gasped and laughed and was nearly moved to tears. When it was over, the entire audience was quiet. Few people spoke as they exited the big top and those that did were whispering. Our ride home was long and quiet. I think everyone was afraid of talking about it, in fear of spoiling the magic of it all. And magic it certainly is. 12:53 PM | allison | # | Wednesday, July 16 What's that line from Bridget Jones? Something like, "It is a truth universally acknowledged that when one part of your life starts going okay, another falls spectacularly to pieces. " Amen, sister. Work pretty much sucks, but everything else is good. And since I came to the conclusion that it's all about working to live and not living to work, the rest of things kinda just fell into place. I'm going out more with friends, laughing so hard crunches have been rendered nearly un-necessary and waking up exhuasted but happy. And happy. It feels good to be happy again. P.S. There are new Lost Boys in my list of daily reads. P.P.S. I'm having a great hair day. 9:57 AM | allison | # | Monday, July 14 Do you ever have one of those days where you have a lot to say but none of it comes out right? Yeah. I'm having one of those days. 10:34 AM | allison | # | Tuesday, July 8 I'm beginning to get a little weirded out with all these celebrities dying. You know they go in threes right? We're at the beginning of a third set of three in less than a month's time. Do you think they know something we don't? David Brinkley, Hume Cronyn and Gregory Peck. Buddy Hackett, Katherine Hepburn and Barry White. Buddy Ebsen...to be continued. **Update: Bob Hope, 06/27/03** 3:55 PM | allison | # | I'm back from CO with tons of awesome pictures, an extreme lack of sleep and a head cold. Why can't every day be vacation? 8:58 AM | allison | # | |
